Biography

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

*Non-equilibrium transport, detection, and dissipation of spin currents through quantum wires and dots.
*
Non-equilibrium phenomena:spatial heterogeneities and mesoscopic fluctuations in the aging dynamics of glassy systems, slow relaxation in electronic glasses.
*The combined effects of interaction and disorder in two-dimensional electronic systems, and the consequences of this combination on spin polarization effects in Si-MOSFETs, the possible metallic and glassy phases in thin films where a superconductor-insulator transition is observed, and thermal transport of interacting quasiparticles inside gapless superconductors.

My group's theoretical research is directed at advancing our understanding both of the interplay between interaction and disorder effects and of out-of-equilibrium phenomena in condensed matter systems. To achieve this goal, we try to develop new theoretical frameworks and computational methods which can be applied to explain experimental data as well as suggest new directions for condensed matter physics.
